Is Your Dryer A Fire Waiting To Happen?

Winter in North Dakota is harsh and unforgiving. Everyone is INSIDE, trying to stay warm. Generally, when it is -15 to -20 below zero, you are going to have a limited amount of time outside before you freeze to death, even if you are fully clothed, let alone at 12am in the middle of the night, running out of a burning house!

Do you do laundry before you go to bed?  Or before you leave the house?  Both are very BAD times for your house to start burning.

You get the picture.  Blockages or build up make the dryer element very hot, and can start a fire and burn your house down fast.  A dryer vent fire can be a fast moving disaster.   They can travel up the wall, and INSIDE the wall in about 1 minute, burning hot from dry lint.  A fire inside the wall is just about impossible to stop, or put out for that matter, and dry, long passages with an air source make it very easy to move and burn its way through your house.

Plus, if you have a dryer in the basement or lower level of your home, and the duct runs inside the rafters of your home, the flames are going to move up fast, literally burning right under your feet.

I really urge you to get your dryer vent cleaned, sooner rather than later, either do it yourself or hire a company, (maybe mine). Ironically, this service is not all that expensive, usually less than $100, but many people avoid this very important home maintenance issue.

  1. Very informative blog! I can tell by the time and care you put into writing your blog that you also care about your customers.
I have a MN Duct Cleaning Company serving Minneapolis, St. Paul and all of the Twin Cities.
We also market Duct Cleaning Services nationwide in the top metro markets. It is really nice to see a company that is willing to do a great job for a very reasonable price. Keep up the good work. – Dave the Duct cleaner.
