More On Getting Out Paint, Oil And Grease From Carpet

A while ago, in a previous post, I wrote about how to get out paint, oil and grease stains.  You can see the old post at this link.  Since then, we have found another method to get out these stains, which works when the other method using the Johnson product does not.

People try to use home remedies for these stains like dish soap and detergents, somebody even recommended using window cleaner (lol!). The problem with those remedies is that you might get the stain out, but the residue left behind can cause re-staining.  These solvent based spots and stains require a cleaning product that can release the offending paint, oil or grease, and flush out easily so there is no residue left behind.

So, with that, another product that  works to do this is: Gel Based Spot Remover

This product works using a gel formula to attach to the spot or stain and lift it out of the carpet.  You simply apply the product, work it into the carpet fiber, and blot with a clean towel.

The final step is important, spray the area with clean water and blot up any remaining spot or stain, as well as any residue.  The  Gel Based Spot Remover rinses easily, leaving a clean area behind and NO residue.

The reason we like this product is it can remove heavy stained areas, and does not just absorb into the carpet backing like some solvent based cleaners.
